Help! A couple of days ago, one of my small angels suddenlly looked very weak and seemed to lack the energy to swim. I saw him floating around in the tank following the current. I put him in my 10 gallon hospital tank and he didn't improve. He ended up getting stuck to the filter intake at one point. It seems he had no energy. He spent the night resting on the bottom and died the next day.

Today, I see another angel rapidly deteriorating. I took him, along with the other smaller angel I have to the hospital tank. This time I am raising the temp to 90F and I added a teaspoon of aquarium salt. He is resting on the bottom now. The other one seems to be o.k., but even he doesn't seem to be the free-spirited little fella he used to be. I noticed today when I fed him, he ate but spit the food back out again.

I am relatively new at this.....

Tank size: 50 gallons
pH: 8
ammonia: 0ppm
nitrite: 0ppm
nitrate: <10ppm
kH: 50ppm
gH: 60ppm
tank temp:79F

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): Fish is perfectly fine and then a sudden and unexpected loss of energy and appetite. Swims sideways, even upside down at times. Doesn't seem to have a tendency to float or sink, just ends up where current moves him unless he decides to fight a little.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: Around 3 30-40% water changes/week.

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: Typical carbon and bio filters. Add water conditioner every time I introduce tap water. I add nutrifin Cycle on a weekly basis.

Tank inhabitants: 1 dead small angel, 1 dying small angel, 1 semi-healthy small angel, 3 larger angels (and happy looking), 6 bloodfin tetras, 6 lemon tetras, 5 corys, 2 clown loaches. Everyone seems healthy besides the small angels.

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): 4 corys

Exposure to chemicals: My thermometer broke in my tank a few days ago after my lid fell into the tank (woops), made two large water changes following this (>70%).

Digital photo (include if possible):

How long has the fish been acting this way, and what is the body size of the small angels? Refusing to eat, and the fish sort of hiding away from the action indicates an internat protizoan.
