Hi,
My new is Tarnya and I am trying to find out any information regarding conjoined fry.
My platy produced her fry 24hrs ago and amongst it was a set of conjoined (Siamese) fry.
They are swimming and eating and I have separated them from the other fry as I am not sure wha to do? Has anybody ever encountered this and give me any advice.
Thank you for your time :)

If they live, I would give them their own tank with carefully selected tankmates, as they will definitely have a good deal of trouble competing for food in a normal community tank.

I had a guppy fry that had three eyes! like blinky the fish on the simpsons...it didn't last long though

I have never encountered this so can't help but would love to see a pic of them

they grow another eye by 2 weeks of age... this is getting wierd

I have heard of live bearers having conjoined twins, and sadly the fry don't often survive.
The lack of survival could be from a few factors, such as just like in human conjoined twins, the two selves sharing many necessary body parts. Also they would be more easily picked off by predators. As well as where they are joined affecting manoverability.

I know most breeders say to kill any deformed fry. This is partly because they generally will have a short life any way, and are not sellable, and if the deformity was caused from bad genetics then you really don't want to keep using that stock in future breeding.
Killing of deformed fry could also be considered an act of kindness, we have no way of knowing if the fry are in pain or if all of their internal organs are working as they should.
