Probably not. Guppies have long flowing fins so the fighting fish (betta) will usually mistake it for one of its own resulting in the guppy ending up dead.
Tetras may be okay depending on the species. Just make sure you go for non nippy ones such as neons. Platies should also be okay.
Keep in mind that bettas are very individual fish. Some are fairly placid where as others are too aggressive to be housed with anything else. There are no set in stone rules for compatibility.

I keep mine with 6 neons and 2 bristlenose Plecos in a 15g and they all seem to get on fine. so I would suggest a similar setup. How big is your tank?

its a rio 125 we have long finned gupies and cardanal and neon tetras. were looking for a show fish or two

I wouldn't risk it. Those guppies will likely end up dead. There are plenty of other show fish to choose from though. Dwarf gouramis, keyhole cichlids or bolivian rams are all viable options (not all together though)

I keep my betta with endler guppys
Endlers usually have higher success rates because they have smaller fins.
BTW Is that piranha in your profile pic yours?

In most cases that is true but keyholes and rams are dwarf cichids and are far more peaceful than their larger cousins. Plenty of people on this forum keep dwarfs in community tanks. They are probably better suited than a betta in a community environment TBH.

I had 12 in total I had them for 9 years, he was the last one.

I have a bettq with my guppies but it is true that rarely works. I would say you can try iy but have a seperate tank teady for betta if you see at any point aggression.

Bettas are generally happiest with their own little piece of turf; some will be fine in a larger tank so long as they have their own little spot, but most will be stressed 'protecting' their home from other fish. They are also prone to being nipped and some will of course nip other fish. Try it but personally I would just give him his own home so he can be happy and relax.
