Will my tiger barbs who are aggressive eat them or kill them

And would they stop my plants becoming coverd in alge hairs

they will probobaly have a nip at them. They wont eat hair algae, only usually the diatoms, SAE are the best for hair alage. You must access why you are getting hair algae in the first place, there is an algae guide in my sig.
