Hey my shrimp had babies about 5 that i spotted, its all ok but im just wondering how i know when a female is goign to lay eggs.

I looked closely at one and i saw what appeard to be maybe 25 small green eggs in its belly, so im wondering if shes going for another tour or not can anyone shed some light?

iv gt a shrimp but i hardley ever see him he has this realy good hiding space in the rocks
what i dont know about. i want mine to have babies is it worth gettin another 1 and taking the chance.
just thought id share that lol

LOL, well they look pretty cool themselves, and mine had about 5 offsrping, i guess more pending if its pregnant, id ask for a male if not get like 3 and hope you hit two opposite sexes.
 
Should be posted in the invert board :good: . But yes, she is going to have more babies, congrats! What type of shrimp is she? :)
 
From what i heave read, they are ghost shrimp. Mine had eggs too, and a bunch of little shrimp were hovering all over the place, but only one survivor.

Oh well still getting around the forums lol, ah good to hear i guess, most of them are hanging out under some shelters i made out of rocks looks pretty nice if you ask me i outta pat myself on the back 5 times hehe.

There ghost shrimp aswell, i just hope my corys dont gobble up th eggs. :blink:
 
Congrats! What type of shrimp do you have? I have RCS constantly having eggs and babies. I also have an amano shrimp with eggs, but they will not thrive, since the babies need brackish water to survive.

My shrimp have never laid any eggs, must be my local water. What's worse is that one of my shrimp managed to get out of the tank. Poor thing. I found it all shrivelled up. :sad:
