Shrimp Is Uncycled Planted Tank

Just curious, I am currently working on a 20G long High Tech Planted tank. Its close to 50% planted and currently fully uninhabited. Since its just starting up and I'm getting my first round of dry ferts in my mail today to help combat early algae. The shrimp I would be adding are Ghost Shrimp that go for around 33cents a piece. Would 5-7 in a 20g thats uncycled and half planted be fine? Also would the tank is uncovered, would that be a bad idea for shrimp?

Yes, they should be fine because you are already "silent cycling" if you have plants (rotting leaves produce ammonia) and I doubt the shrimp would need much extra food. As always, do test ammonia unless you are using ammonia releasing fertilisers.
