Hello, is it possibe for me to put shrimp inot a planted tank, the tank has cory cats and a discus in there so im not sure if it will work. any info on this would be great!!

Thanks!

Your biggest worry will not be plants if you wanna add shrimp but rather if your fish will eat them and that I cannot tell you.

If got 4 glass shrimp in my tank with plants and sand. They love it and they are the cleanup crew. They take all poop on sand and break it into peaces that starts to float and go inte the filter.

I would give it ao with 1 or 2 and se ehow it goes.Remember not to use any tipe of medacines in tank with shrimp unless bottle states otehrwise.

thank u thats very helpful. do u think one of my cory cats could die from dijesting the shrimp? i doubt my discus will eat it but im more worried about my cory cats.

Hi.

I have 2 leopard corys in my tank and they dont even know about the shrimps as it seems so you should be ok.

What ive noticed is that my shrimps tent to when a fish is to close pinch it.Even my YoYo loach that could easily kill it stays away from them.

Keep your fish well fed so they dont turn to eating shrimp.

What type of shrimp are they? You can buy live rivershrimp to feed cichlids, my malawis used to love this and they were smaller fish than discus, so you will probably find your discus my prey on the shrimp if they are small enough. :/

Unless your discus are youngsters, the shrimp will be lunch.

Cories don't bother with shrimp and most shrimp sold for aquariums won't bother plants - they'll eat rotting leaves and algae though - so they're rather useful :)

www.petshrimp.com is a site with lots of lovely shrimp pictures and info.
