Okay so I got yellow shrimp with my betta he doesn't like them so if I get a ten gallon tank filter less with plants and airstone will the tank need to cycle?

Exactly right, and what i would do is next time you open the filter on your established tank, squeeze the sponge out into your new tanks water, and let it all settle into the substrate and filter, it will help introduce the bacteria you need for filtration, and they certainly reproduce faster than they originally establish otherwise.fm1978 said:Wow, they are very yellow! You definitely need a filter with your shrimp tank, as ech0o says, they're even more sensitive to water conditions than some fish.
On the plus side, they don't produce a large net bio-load and so cycling with them should be 'easier'. But you must still keep a close eye on water parameters and perform large and regular water changes especially at the first sign of a spike in ammonia/nitrite/nitrate.
And I did that
