I have been thinking about getting some freshwater shrimp for my community tank. The tank is heavily planted. I have tiger barbs, small bala sharks, Molly's, platys, blood fin tetras, 2 plecos, and a panther loach. I have been looking at the Singapore shrimp because it is a larger one and I like how they filter the water for food. Any ideas?

What size is the tank? And what kind of plecs? Cause commons would destroy any type of shrimp.

I would never try keeping any shrimp with tiger barbs, they are nippy enough with each other and other fish let alone yanking legs etc off shrimp. Bala sharks are also not a good option with shrimp. The only fish in that set up that MAY be ok with shrimp are platties and mollies but even they may decide to eat the shrimp and any young the fish would definantly eat.

the tank is a 55 gallon and very heavily planted. I don't think the tiger barbs will be a problem because when they are in a group of 6 or more then they don't seam to pick on the other fish. the bala sharks are going to have to get out of there eventually because i know they grow to like over 14 inches. but right now i have had them for a year and they haven't even surpassed 3 inches yet. the plecos, one is a bristle-nose pleco and the other i dont really know. i know its not a common pleco because i have had it for like 3 years and the things still only 2 inches long
