Shrimp Babies!

I have just put sand into my shrimp tank, it's all settling but whilst looking around and getting rid of the moss that had all failed miserably, I noticed about 5-6 cherry babies!! I know they are easy to breed but I didn't even realise, so it's quite exciting!

I am hoping my platy doesn't snap them all up, as there was moss to hide around in previously, I have a few bits of bogwood in there and a coconut shell they can go under if needed..

I have also just ordered the below;

1x Blue Shrimp
1x Ninja Shrimp
1x Tiger Shrimp
2x Yellow Shrimp
1x Orange Shrimp
1x Crystal Red Shrimp

Can't wait to get these!

Going to have a really nice mix of shrimp in there!

Why did you choose so many difference species? You know they will hybridise right.... I am not moaning just curious as to why you chose that direction.

RCS are virtually impossible to stop breeding provided you have 1 male & 1 female with water above 15C you will have breeding.

Good question.

I chose them because I fancied a bit of variety in the tank, I realize hybrids may occur, but I believe these types of shrimps are harder to breed in any event

I am thinking about taking the platy out as the babies may dissapear otherwise!

The tanks looking a lot nicer now
