Shrimp And Medications

I have 4 shrimp in a floating breeding trap in a tank, which i need to treat for whitespot.
whats the best way to do this as cant move them to another tnk for obvious reasons
so what if i put them in a floating container in the tank and do regular water changes until treatment finished.
now if i am to put the shrimp back after this will it still have affect on them as there has been treatment done previously?
i planned on using ws3 to treat

You aren't going to want them anywhere near that treatment or tank for weeks, residues of the treatment will be in the tank for ages!!

any meds i can use safely with shrimp at treating whitespot

i need to treat tank and dont have no were for them to be moved to

Are all the fish effected or can you do the 'dip' or 'bath' method... depends on your fish but if they are easy to catch, work out the dosage for a bucket, double it and put them in there for 5 minutes or so. Might need to repeat...

Other than that, buy a cheap little fishtank and filter and set it up as a quarantine tank for your shrimps to go into for a few weeks (transfer over water and mature filter media)

how does dip and bath method work exactly?
been that long since ive ever had whitespot in my tanks.
but surely if its in the tank then the whole of it needs to be treated wether there is only 1 or 2 fish doesnt mean others dont have it also

I treated a tank with malachite green/formalin treatment, full doses, four of them over 10 days and the amano shrimp lived. Yeah for white spot you can't do a dip, as the there are multiple forms of the parasite. Got to treat the whole tank.

Yeah was going to say cant really dip if its a community tank with loads of small fish either.. pain to catch!!

I have treated with malachite and acriflavin and its not killed amano/yamato shrimp but i wouldnt guarantee it doesnt do long term damage!

You'll find Malachite in the pond section of some shops (as a single treatment) it is in a lot of the whitespot treatments but they also put copper and stuff in those...
