What is the point of that, if you sit down you can't see it, if you stand up you can't see it because the lids up great tanks.

Its a shame about the betta tanks, but i think its been discussed lots of times before.

My friend who visits China regularly tells me that they sit the other way round on toilets over there (facing the cistern) so it would be fine for them.

Aha, now, I would buy that but NOT for fish. I'd steampunk it and fill it with something"dead" suspended in green liquid.

If you think the suspended bowl is bad for a betta take a look at the right hand side of the page at the bookend bowls

So what happens to the fish when you flush and the water goes down the pan

I suspect the cistern and working parts of the toilet are behind and built into the wall? They wouldn't be connected to the aquarium.
