Should I Spawn?

So I got a female and a male betta off MermaidMel on friday, and he had made a huge bubblenest and she has a swollen belly and i can see what looks to be white eggs in her? They are both red crowntails. So I was wondering if i should spawn?

I have a spare 5gal and a spare 20gal that I could use.

I have read alot of things about how to breed them, so I'm wondering if i should give it a try? Or is it oo early?

Only if you think you can handle it, but if he's made you a huge nest then I'm glad to hear he's settled in so well, big ups for taking care of my babies so well

Sounds like you could give it a try, I'm sure they came to you already pretty well conditioned. And if shes eggy and hes blowing lots of bubbles then yeah definatly go for it! Good luck!

Okay, so I have just shown her to him and he went mental, it was really cool to watch. His bubblenest now covers about 3/4 of his 2.5gal tank! I will put them together tomorrow and tell you what happens.

I think i have enough space for babies.

Okay so i let her in, she went to examine the nest, and then did nothing. They are both swimming around with each other, no aggression at all. No spawning either.

Should I leave them in there and keep checing every 10 mins or something? Or take her out?

she barred up, but then destroyed his nest so I put her back in the 35gal

gunna condition them for a week and try again next week.
