Should I Snail On Purpose?

I have two dwarf puffers in a tank. I read they like to eat snails. However, I'm apprehensive of putting snails in my tank. I HATE the damn things. They take over the tank and would make my beautiful tank that I worked so hard on unsightly.

What should I do? Do dwarf puffers NEED snails?

If you get snails from your other tanks that you don't want you could put them in I guess.

I don't have any snails in any of my tanks. I know my LFS has some snail-infested tanks that I'm sure they'd be happy to give to me. I really don't want snails to overpopulate in my tank, though.

Trust me, the puffers will keep them under controll

It is not essiential for DPs to be fed snails because there teeth grow very slowly but it is reccommended. Also any snails you put into the tank will probably be scoffed as soon as the puffers realise waht they are.

How many do you suggest I buy, then?

A couple of snails a week, maybe even every two weeks?

you could get a mini tank and have the snails in there until they are to be fed.
