and reflectors are definetely worth it, they don't double the light, but they do help a lot

Would a reflector fit the above ballast?

the power compact would cost £15 for the bulb and £31 for the ballast

Can't really afford that at the minute to much other stuff to buy, but i may be investing in one in the near future

Yeh Ginge's idea would seem the best way. It is a Rena tank? Ive got the 60lt. The trouble is that stupid ballast, why not just have it on the outside! I'm tempted with mine to take the whole light system out, then you could probably get three tubes under there, but it would be a waste of a light system I guess.

Yeh and T5's would give you even more wattage, but they are a bit more expensive.

Oh and definitely get reflectors for both tubes, the WPG 'rule' assumes you have them.

Yeh it's a 92l rena tank - i have the 60l as well which is running at the moment but is being sold to a relative shortly.
