Should I Get A 10 Gallon Or 20-30?

+ I think 5 for get the biggest you can. I got a 50 litre tank and now have a 125 litre. And looking for bigger still lol!

It's a very addictive hobby and you will always want more!

bigger is almost always better in this hobby i would venture to say, and like all have said, you will always want a bigger tank, no matter which size u get! lol

lol yeah I can see myself wanting a bigger tank in the future. Hopefully selling my 2 , 3 gallon takes I can cover a good amount/ the cost of my new tank

Does anyone here have a 20/30 gallon? What do you use for water changesa 5 gallon bucket?

No bucket required, get one of these

attach a piece of hose to each end, one goes into the tank and the other straight out to either a drain or a water butt. Attach a household power drill which runs the pump and pump it straight outside. That's what I do (I do put a mesh ending on the tank end so I don't suck anything friendly up) and the speed of the drill controls the flow of the pump, so it isn't a whirlpool in your tank. No mess, no hassle.

How do you put the water back into the tank just pour it in? I wish I could just syphon from the bucket, but itll be lower then the tank

To put the water just pour it back in, either from
A bucket or straight from the hose. If you do it from the hose, make sure the filter is off and you put enough dechlorinator in the tank before you turn it back on as the chlorine will kill the good bacteria

My 10 gallon lasted exactly 3 weeks before I moved the contents to a 29 gallon, and all the fish seem more relaxed with more room. If anything its less work as there is a much bigger volume of water to dilute the nitrates so its longer between water changes. My 29 just sits on an old bit of tapley furniture which is solidly made but nothing special, so you might not need a dedicated stand.

I have a 10, a 20, and a 30. I do all water changes with a bucket but am thinking of investing in a python hose. You can drain directly into the sink and then hook it up to your tap to refill.

Okay guys I have someone who has a 29 gallon tank, heater, stand, and screen top for $60. tank doesn't leak. Do u think its a good buy?

Sounds good to me. Try and get a filter aswell off him :). If not there are plenty of second hand ones around. Fluval U3 would be ideal for your tank, although I've got a U4 as it was only slightly more expensive and if I decide to upgrade it can go in that :)

Just had another guy call me the drives like 20 miles but he has a 35 gallon tank with heater filter hood, and stand for $40

I think that is a solid deal. 20 miles? Are you upset about that? I used to drive twice that distance to work every day for over a year. Why aren't you in the car already?!

Lol no not upset but my vehicle gets 15-18 mpg .

U think I should try to get a little gravel from his established tank ? Would that help me to cycle better then straight ammonia?
