I would like to find a few small fish that don't live for very long to keep my other three fish happy. I am going to go out of the hobby when they die though so I don't want anything that will live for ages.
Thanks,

How short of a lifespan are you thinking?
And instead of doing this I recommend you just re-home the current fish you have.

Thanks,
Now you've done it- regardless of what you get, they will all live far beyond any normal lifespan... lol
What are the three fish you already have, and how old are they?

short lived fish? killifish are the ones you are looking for but I wont recommend them unless they are with the right tankmates

I looked up killifish but I'm not sure how they would do in my tank. I have a ten gallon without a lid. The inhabitants are one copper tetra, one zebra danio, one rosy red feeder fish and a zebra snail. I know that my danios would be happier with a buddy but am not sure if I have room for another one (they get fairly big?)

I don't think they'd benefit from other random fish, only more of their own kind, which they all need groups of 6+
Really do recommend re-homing them now since you're going out of the hobby anyways (which I'm sorry to hear!) :/
