I myself (as you might have guess) have never shipped or had anything shipped to me...I guess I've just never need to...

i have never had anything fishy shipped to me and i dont think i will as the thought of a dead fish turning up

I have had fish shipped to me in England, from Trimar- two particular L number plecos, unfortunately one was dead on arrival, they sent a replacement free of charge which was fine. I guess there is always a risk, and certainly if I could have sourced the fish locally I would have.

90% of fish will have been shipped from overseas, whether to the wholesalers, to the shop or even direct to you, only easy to breed species such as most common Cichlids and livebearers are likely to have been locally bred.
