How do online plant stores ship plants??
What do they put them in??

wondered what the topic was there for a minute!

anyway, they tend to wrap the plants in wet newspaper then inside a plastic bag.
they don't send them in water like fish.

I've had them shipped two ways - one the way the previous poster mentioned (in the wet newspaper) and the second in blown up plastic baggies with a little water inside).

I have seen plants in those vacuum sealed bags with a bit of water in them. Sealed up with most of the air gone, but that was for overnight delivery
