Hey,

My Keyholes have finally paired off. It was a long wait. It appears that I have 4 males and 1 female. I want to ship 3 males to Southern Florida from the North East of USA. About a 21 hour drive by car. How would I go about packing the fish for next day shipping? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would just hate to "sell" them back to LFS. I'd rather give them to my brother. These males are really great and mature (2 - 2.5 years old). I also want to get rid of them so I see eggs hatch. The pair has spawned 4-5 times now with no luck. Something keeps eating the eggs after 1 week or so. I'm sure its due to the other males I have. The pair do a great job keeping the males away, so I am figuring the parents are eating the eggs. I cant see any of the other fish eating the eggs. The Keyholes by far are the biggest fish in the tank.
Thanks!
Maybe it's not even worth the trouble!?? What do ya think?

Don't feed the fish for 24 hours. Use clean water not tank water for shipping. It's best to fill the bags so that the fish can turn and sit up right. More air the better. The air should be full of O2 or pure O2 I think petco use to have O2 for the fish they bagged.

Use the right bags and alway use a lot. Never use just one bag. Make sure the fish in the bags are padded so that once in the box they don't move. You might not need heat pack. But one small one would not hurt. Put it on the inside lid make sure it never touched the bag. Use news pap per to protected the bag.

Make an insulated box with Styrofoam on all sides.

Yeah you just need to make sure they are packed well. Bags are tight and snug in the box so they don't. Move too much or roll.

If you wright on there live fish they might treat the box better.
