Shipping Inverts

How long can inverts stay in a box....shrimp, snails, when shipped from a dealer. (They have a heat pack and are in Styrofoam.) I ordered some yesterday and they shipped out yesterday evening. They arrived at about 10:30 this morning and are safely inside the house. However, They will not get put into the tank until I get home this afternoon about 5:00. Will they be alright?

They should be fine, that was fast shipping. I have sent out some boxes to customers that the carrier screwed up and took 5 days or longer and all was ok. If the breeder packaged them well its ok.

Of course less time in the box is best, but as long as you open them when you get home, all should be well.
