Shipping Betta

hi
not sure where to put this, but it relate to betta so i decide to post it here
the story is...
a friend is going back to indonesia for the summer and i kinda talk him into getting me some betta there (cuz he say they r cheap n it very very beautiful). the thing is neither of us have any experience in shipping fish over sea.
first of all... is it a good idea to do it?(like disease or virus)
where i can get more info or learn how to ship fish over sea
any1 got tips to offer? like pro n con... do n don't

Is he sending it via mail or hand carry it ? with proper packing there should be no problem there's nothing to worry even if he puts it in a small plastic bag and hand carry it, travelling for a week I'm sure you'll get your betta alive.
