Wasn't sure where to put this.

I want to upgrade to bigger tank and have been looking around locally (and not so locally) for used tanks for sale. I found a great almost brand new 60g tank/stand for a VERY cheap price. Definitely a bargain. The only problem is it would have to be shipped to me, and so I asked the seller how much he would expect the shipping to be. His answer to me was around $100. That seems like quite a steep price, but I'm not shipping expert. If the shipping really is that much, by all means i plan on still getting it just want to make sure.

I know its hard not knowing the weights of everything, but does anyone have any guesses on a standard shipping rate? Or perhaps if someone knows the weight of an empty 60g tank? :p

I tried doing my own research but I wasn't getting very far...

Thanks a lot!

$100 actually sounds a little cheap to me... Shipping a tank as big as 60g is quite the task, and don't forget insurance.

Whereabouts in Upstate NY are you? Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany? Or perhaps really upstate like 1,000 islands area? Might be able to help ;)

Is it really? Like I said, I'm not very familiar with shipping prices and I wasn't coming up with much trying to find out on my own :p

I'm right around Albany.

Well, if you're in Albany and in the market for a used tank, make sure you look up the CDMAS (Capital District Marine Aquarium Society)... And never forget the craigslist :D

I've already been searching up Craigslist not too much luck yet... I'm surprised I didn't think about CDMAS

Thanks Ski
