tbh I can't be ar*ed to hunt, measure, empty and clean large garden snails for their shells...

I've found a place that sells unused, cleaned 'escargot' snail shells... 3 dozen (between 2 and 2.5 inches in size) for £12 inc. p+p...

...does anyone know if I can get them cheaper before I buy... or should I make do with garden ones...

I bought mine in walmart in the craft area, there probably isnt walmarts in the UK...(give them 10 minutes though and there will be  ) anywho, call around to Hobby/Craft stores perhaps.

Escargot snails work perfectly. What I do is raid the snail tank at the local fish super-store for all the empty apple snail shells, that way they're free and easily cleaned for use.

Forgot that!, I raise mystery snails and when they have a scuffle (funny thought huh, snail fights  )

but given a choice of shells, the strapps pick the fancy, glossy ones every time.

snotty lil buggers ehh :fish:

tried that at the w/e... no empty/dead snails...just dead fish!... not good...

I'm w/ mamafish on this. . .I just go to a local craft store in the area and find some shells.

I've gone to a lfs and they wanted to charge me for the apple snail shell - $1.99  I wasn't in the mood to get ripped off.

I wonder if I call a local french restaurant if they would have snail shell for me. . . :hey:

I'm an escagot shell user, I buy them for about the same price you do and they work (and look) great.
