Hello everyone,

I need advice and time is running short.

I currently have 6 Multies in a 30 gallon tank, but a friend owns two Calvus Cichlid which he needs to get rid off.

Will my shell dwellers be ok with the Calvus' being in the same tank as them?

Please help!!!!

As far as I know the Calvus should never be kept with smaller fish and shelldwellers as they will end up eating them. :/

Calvus should be fine with adult shelldwellers, but mixing adult Calvus with juvenile shellies is not a good idea. A Calvus/shellie tank is likely to be my next project. :hyper:

that should be fine, calvus are very calm fish and should be fine with adult shellies, but not juvies.

and i also had the idea of calvus and shellies but no one sells calvus in my area

Hate to add on here, but I was gonna post the same question and figured I'd ask a few add ons.

In a 55gall setup, would a starting stock of a colony of say 8-16 multis and 2 or 3 Calvus juvies be able to live long term successfully?
