one of my snails has shell deterioration, and i want to know if it grows back, it does not seem to
what do i need to get high in order for good shell growth?

Any chance of a picture?

Snail shells usually deteriorate over time, if the water is on the soft side.

Once damaged the shell will not grow back. It is not caused by soft or hard water. The deterioration is caused by low PH which can occur in hoard or software. Keep the PH as close as possible to 7 or a little above that to minimize erosion.

Gotta love auto correct :)

For the OP, that is meant to read "The deterioration is caused by low pH which can occur in hard or soft water."

Basically it's caused by acid water (water with a pH below 7.0).
