Specimens bought 3/25/2024, Project Started 7/24/2024

Went through a jararium(Jar Vivarium/Aquarium) phase last year, and this one as my oldest standing project, as well as one of my favorites! Shelfhollow Crypt, named after where it's kept(Shelf) and the pile of logs for shelter half buried in the dirt (Hollow Crypt), is an enclosed glass jar populated with Dairy Cow Isopods, as well as springtails. This ecosystem had it's ups and downs, and I've decided to share it's journey from here onwards.

Yeah really cool! Isopods have become really popular some of them look nuts and are mega expensive now!

First, I thought they were marine Isopods. Then I looked up where you can buy them, I never knew something that I used to shove in jars when I was a kid had so much potential as a pet.

I promise you they're very rewarding! If you're going to make a sealed jararium, you're going to need live plants inside.
If you're like bugs then you should keep tabs on Starry Highlands. That one seems to be the one that changes the most.

I like all creatures and plants, even the ones most people don't like. But I am also old enough to know when it is better to enjoy other people's pets and the animals outside. With my work, my dog, and now only one tank I find I am kept busy enough. One of the reasons I keep with this forum is the unusual stuff, like these isopods, that keep coming up.
