Well this is all happening a bit fast but thought I would mention one thing and ask a couple of questions.
I bought my first pair of mollies on friday to go into my new tank, I spotted a pregnant female so decided to take her, dropped them in the tank friday afternoon and all was well so I did a bit of reserch on here for some guidence on when to expect my female to drop, the information was spot on and when I checked her on sunday she looked real close, but as she was really lively I assumed that I must have another day to go...wrong, got up this morning to find a really slim female mollie in the tank, I frantically checked the tank for young but could not see anything, so I thought that she must have eaten the lot.........then, wow I spotted one, then another, and another, etc. I have 14 in the breeder box now and I know there is at least 2 more in the tank, but I cannot get them in the net so far.
So to newbees like myself a note of warning they do not always go quiet and hide in a corner before they drop.
To the more experianced can anyone tell me what age/size the fry need to be before they can be released from the trap into the tank ? And as the fry are all black, is this the colour they will stay ?
