I got three guppies that were supposed to be all males but I think I might have hot a female. How do I tell??

 It's quite easy to distinguish males from females once you know what to look for. The males anual fin (which is on the bottom part of the body) is rod-liked and they are usually more colorful. The female's anual fin is fan shaped and they are duller than the males. It's also best to have a couple females for every male in teh tank becasue they'll get chased around constantly, which could led to death!

also the colouration the females will be more bland than the males, and less colour and less fin

I thought that is how you tell, but my mom (who got the fish for me) insited that they came out of the all male tank. the fish shop must have made a mistake :/ my tank is pretty big and there are a lot of plants and hiding spots, but if she gets harrassed too much I can give her to a friend of mine who has a bunch of females.

Every lfs store I've gone to, both sexes are in together. Females often has no colour(besides a dull grey or skin tone) on their bodies, their tails are shorter but can also be just as bright as a males. Also males have a sexual organ called the gonopodium . This is the anal fin under the belly and is rod-shaped and lays flat aggainst the body or comes up when arosed by a female. I find I can even know the sexes of my 3 month old guppies by looking at this fin.
