I've only got one gold gourami, but I thought it would be cool to get a mate for it. Do they breed easily or are they difficult. I'm reasonably new at having tropical fish. My current one's about 2" long. Is that mature or do they have to be bigger?
thanks in advance for any advice :D

me again. just wondering if the male gourami is really aggressive. I'm reading on the net that it might be. Is it safe to put a pair in a community tank?

Most Gourami are easy to breed, but raising fry is harder. Check out the dorsal fin, if it is long and ends in a slight point its a male, if its short and rounded its a female.

Most male gouramis are only aggressive toward other males, and some times females. They are great community fish.

My Gold female is the meanest one of my three. She keeps the male and another female to one side of the tank and keeps the rest as hers.
