Ugh...
I probably should've learned how to do this before I actually bought the fish, but I was so excited to see them, I couldn't wait. I really think that both the fish I got were females. The blue sparkles don't appear past the second half of their body near the tail. But, they are still pretty young, and the sparkles aren't distinguishable. They are about 1", which is probably how I got them for $4.

Thats cheap. I get very young ones for $8.99. They are so tiny. there are not colors on them at all, but they are quick growers since their life spans arn't that long.
But posting some pics will help more with sexing them. I just got my first gold ram. it's small and plain but I think it's a female. I randomly chose one and when I got it, I took a close look at it and it looks like it has some pink on it's stomach. I have one problem with it though, it's not eating??? she eat on the second day I got her but that was it. I tried dry flakes, alge disks (my blues love them), and live black/blood worm. She was afraid of the worms at first but took 2. she had to struggle though because she is small. but for a few days now she won't eat anything?

male rams are generally bigger, second and/or third rays on their dorsal fins are longer than a females. males dont have blue spangles in the black spot on side/middle/upper half of their body, females do have these but sometimes hard to spot on not thriving fish (some rams looked washed out for one reason or another) females in good condition have a red belly region. males have more blue on their upper lip
