just thought I'd show some random shots of some of my fish.
Click thumbnails for larger image.

possibly Brachirus harmandi, I say possibly as it it very hard to determin the exact species when dealing with freshwater flatfish

Unidentified barilius species (if anyone can help on this it would be greatly appreciated)

baby senegal bichar and my ornate bichar

adonis pleco Acanthicus adonis

L128 with disc tetra Brachychalcinus orbicularis

L134

Syncrossus berdmorei Tiger loach + Chromobotia macracanthus clown loach

random loaches

Redfinned tetra tetragonopterus argenteus and tinfoil barb

That's all for now; thanks for looking
oh and seeing as you opened this and got all the way down to here, why not post a reply :p

no clue about indentifications and stuff as i know hardly anything about fish yet but what i do know is they are great looking fish.

Those Barilius could be either Barilius Bakeri (although they seem to have more of a white tip to the dorsal than yours) or Barilius Barna.

They're Euryglossa/Brachirus harmandi (spelling?) wolf, I have one myself and neale got it ID'd for me from looking through a japanese freshwater flounder site!

They're great fish. They'd be better if I ever saw mine though!

Excellent pictures and Beautiful Fish :)
Really awesome fish you got there Wolf, good pics too :good: !
great looking fish.
Thanks :good:

 you got me wolf
you're too easy to 'get' :p

Those Barilius could be either Barilius Bakeri (although they seem to have more of a white tip to the dorsal than yours) or Barilius Barna.
I was 90% sure they were b.bakeri, and now doing a bit more research I'm 100% sure they are;
the females have white on the dorsals and males have a touch of orange/red, so it would seem I have more males than females.

They're Euryglossa/Brachirus harmandi (spelling?)
I did get neale to have a go id'ing these and b.harmandi is the closest we could get to, but not 100%
posative. Still it is good to have a second opinion.

 Your funny wolf
;)

Cool pics wolf :good: :good:

I had a fish very similar to L-134 but not once did I see it eating and it just vanished after about 10 days??

Don't know what I was doing wrong, £15.00 down the pan!!! :S :S

Glad to see someone can keep them alive and happy anyway!

Picture isn't that clear, but with the orange colouration in the dorsal, my first guess would have been Barilius canarensis... I know Wharf Aquatics had some recently. B. bakeri is not an unreasonable suggestion though.

That's the one, thanks LL I knew you'd know

perhaps you can shed some light on why it is known as a asian barb when it
looks and acts nothing like a barb :S.
having watched this fish since getting them I'd say they are
more liken to a danionin than a barb, they can certainly jump as
good as any danio I know.

oh well I guess that is another reason to dislike 'common' names ;)
