I have read on several websites (although I can't find any of them now)
that guppies can, in the absense of the opposite sex change from mae to female and vice versa.
I am just looking for confimation of this fact!
also heard that swordtails can do this.
Are there any other fish that can do this remarkable feat?

i think its only swordtails.

and clownfish can do that as well.

 I never heard of guppies changing their gender! I once had a female swordtail that developed into a male.

Yes, swordtails can do this. There have been other unconfirmed reports of other livebearers do this, and one of my platies changed from female to male.

OK Folks,
I raise Guppies, and my wife raises Lyretail Swordtails...we have about 97 tanks. I can tell you this is like an Old Wives Tale. They can't change sex!!! Sometime especially in Swordtails, the males develope slowly...sometimes very slowly...We have some wild Swordtails that it took almost 5 month's before the males started showing male traits. And I have never-ever seen this with guppies. As a matter of fact, you can sex guppies at about 2 weeks old if you feel the desire to. Otherwise just wait. I have double sword guppies and they don't show male traits until about 5 month's old. Some people might say all they have is female guppies from a drop of fry. I can tell you this much...don't look for the color. Guppies that color up slower are the better, bigger fish...yes this is what you want.
