Okay, ive seen many places (including the species index) saying that the minimum tank size for a serverum is 30Gal. My question is in two parts,

1. Could i keep a severum with an Angelfish?

2. Can you keep a severum in a 48US Gal?

Thanks, :D

no the sevs need 75g min but 100+ is better. the angel fish should be fine though aslong as the tank is 18" from sand to water level

If kept properly most sevs should reach 8", and up to 12".Too big for your tank.

If you are willing to get a bigger tank in a year or when the severum gets to 5" you can grow him out in a 50 gal. But if you are not going to upgrade you can't keep them in that long term.

I have a 3.5" severum in a 55 gal. I'm getting a 100 gal or 125 gal thus summer. So yes you can but only to grow them out. You will need to upgrade.

My tanks need to go on the 1st floor, so im not risking anything bigger....
