I finally convinced my mom to let me set up a tank outside of my room, and if this goes well, we're getting a 75 for the dining room, so it has to be perfect. Anyways, fingers crossed, here goes:

That's the tank w/o water, the middle of the tank is eye level with me, so it's a perfect location ^^

There goes the first gallon. 29 trips in all...

Washing the gravel. I wanted a more "natural" look to this tank, as the bright blues and yellows in my 10 gallons started looking wierd the more I saw them...

Aussie wants to help, lol.

And there we are with gravel and the first two decoration - Coconut shell caves! There's a DIY article about them, if you're interested.

And there we have it, my new 29 gallon, underfurnished and not yet stocked. More decorations tomorrow, fish by Sunday, and more pictures soon to follow ! Peace, all.

Looks good. I like the shell caves, I'm going to do them too sometime thanks to your article.

How come no fishless cycle?

I have 2 established aquariums already, so I'm going to add gravel and filter media from them to get the cycle going and the fish should be fine... right?

I'd run the new filter on one of your established tanks untill you add the fish.

Also, I'd move the picture, and put a solid black background on the tank.

The new filter is for a 30 gallon tank , it would blow my other fish in the 10 gallons away ... well... maybe not at a lower setting. The poster behind the tank is going upstairs eventually, but I'll probably have the tank completed long before it gets moved. My family is just lazy like that.

lol My filter is for a 85 gallon, in my 20 long and my fish do fine, in fact I havent had a problem, and its been on my tank for over a year now,

is that an all glass aquarium?(with the 29 gallon set up) i have the exact same... only thing i dont like is the hood only having one light fixture... gotta get a doube lighted thing w/ 2 pins so ya :( but the filter is nice except the media is a pain in the butt, hope you enjoy your 29 gallon :)

Thx. The single light doesn't bother me 'cause I plan on installing a moonlight fixture with cold cathode tubes. There's a thread about it in the DIY forum ^^ The filter is awefully quiet compared to my other two, lol, which is odd because it's bigger. And I suppose I'll run it with my cories for awhile so it will pick up some bacteria.

I had an unexpected "financial crisis" which, in short, involved my son and me accidently breaking the basinet. I get paid on tuesday, so the tank should be stocked by then. I'm working on cycling it, too, since I'm going to be waiting so long. The first fish I'm going to keep are tetras, just until it matures, and afterwords it depends on how my budget looks. I want Rams and a Bristlenose Pleco, or possible Kribs if I can find some locally. I decided against live plants. Kind of dissappointing, I know, lol.

Welcome to the forums, by the way ^^

Im a bit worried (for u) about the position of the tank... Its right above a Television?

Make very sure water doesnt get to the TV...especially from the back.

Other than that. How exciting for u, a new tank...MORE FISH :D

I'm hoping the tank will replace the television ^^ You can't tell from the pics, but this entertainment center has a solid back (if it was hollow, I wouldn't trust a 300 lbs fish tank on top of it) and water can't get to the TV... I hope. If it does, hey, maybe I'll get a new TV for Christmas.

But, yeah, I'm pretty excited, except I don't have the money for the fish (or more decorations) yet, lol.
