Hello again!

I was wondering, my aquarium (Juwel 240 Rio) has been dry and empty for the last 10 months. I am going to start it up again in within 2-3 weeks. Is there anything I should be concerned about (especially the seams)? The tank has been stored in room temperature, so the glass itself has not (at least it shouldn't have) suffered from thermal stress.

Just make sure if you set it up in a test run that it's level.

Hi!

Thanks for the advice. No, unfortunately I do not have access to garage, so I have to test it in my livingroom :p Hopefully it'll hold :)

No big deal. I'd treat it as an opportunity. Level and fill the tank in the living room just totally plain (planning to drain it after the test probably.) Get a series of buckets and scoops and a stack of towels and just leave them there next to the tank so the whole family can help if it gives way. Then (the opportunity) review your hardware (filters, heaters etc.) choices in the hardware section if necessary and do other sorts of planning by discussing things here on TFF. Anyway, that's my thought, probably a bit excessive as my usual, lol.

LOL, yeah well, I was wondering how to level up the Juwel stand. It stands firmly with all 8 feet touching the floor, although it leans out from the wall a wee bit. Don't think the Juwel stand has adjustable feet, so I think something has to be put under them. Let's say the base of the stand is 40 cm deep, and on those 40 cms there is a difference of about 2mm:s, which makes it lean out from the wall... Do I make any sense?

Just make sure any type of "furniture cups" you place under the front feet are not going to squish down too much and are enough larger than the feet that there's no chance the feet could come off if the tank were bumped. One idea is a piece of linoleum tile or wall footer stuff. You can cut those with a boxcutter knife to create the right size of little squares and the pieces are not too thick. (There are probably better things...)
