Hi, I have recently set up a brackish tank for nerite snails to breed, after much research I decided on using coral sand as a substrate. Its looking rather grand however on doing my tests I have noticed the GH is off the scale as is the TDS ahhhh!!! Obviously my research failed me and maybe complete coral sand is far too hard. Has anyone got any ideas how to lower the GH without completely removing all the sand as its a 320l tank and I have used 25kg of sand so emptying and stating again will be quite a task. Really appreciate any info, many thanks.

If Nerite snails are from brackish waters- then its fine. I've only kept one in my very soft water ph of 9 or so out of the tap..lower in the tank itself, and it lived a year plus while laying eggs on roots and branches.
Brackish water life loves those coral sands and like you said,it looks great to the eye.
If its a nano tank, and you don't want the coral sand forever dissolving,go to pool sands and do the water altering by hand.

hello, coral has a lot of calcium so it naturally raises those things
dont empty, just keep waterchanging until it goes away
tbh i think it is fine
