i'm not exactly new to the hobby, but i've decided to set up my 150g as a frontosa tank. the problem that i'm seeing is that i currently run two fluval 405s on the thing and i see that the frontosas like to be in a low flow environment. my tank is not drilled. i do not have a sump and am interested in possibly changing filtration. i have considered the fluval fx5, but i think it looks like a bulky behemoth of a filter, difficult to maneuver when doing maintenance. i am also looking at possibly removing one of the 405s and replacing it with an aquatop cv500uv. i like that the filter has a built-in uv sterilzer, but i've heard both good and band things about aquatop. i'm concerned that the filter is cheaply made, hence the lower price. i would REALLY be interested in having a sump, but i do not want to drill the tank.

my ultimate goal wold be to have an adjustable flow rate so i can maintain the appropriate power to move the water, but not disturb the fish. like i said, i'm no noob but this type of care is something i've never tried. so i need some help. what do you guys recommend to fiter the tank and how do i go about doing it?

i am open to any suggestion or positive criticism! :D

I would just make a couple long, large holed spraybars to make the flow less strong.

I have two FX5s running on mine with no issues. They have areas with calmer flow should they need it, but they don't.
