Setting up a 55G

I've been researching what I'm going to put in my new 55G, Here is what I came up with.
1 - Severum
1 - Parrot
1 - RTBS
some larger tetra and barbs.

As far as I can tell from what I've been reading, this will work, so I guess I'm just looking for some confirmation before I start buying fish this week. Also a suggestion or two on what order to stock this aquarium would be great. I was planning on stocking from the smallest fish to the largest. ie. tetra, barb, rtbs, parrot, severum. Any input is appreciated.

You got the go ahead from me it seems like you did your homework With the tetra's would you like to go silver dollars insted?

I already have the skirt tetra from my 38 Gallon, it came handy to have a place to put them now that I have Blue Ram Fry . And once I begin to set the 38 up again I am planning rams angels so having those skirt tetra out of there and replacing them with either cardinals or rummynose has opened up some room for another angel!

I just got home with the parrot and he's absolutely awesome. I picked him up at PetSmart, got to use my x-mas gift certificate. He is colored just like Green Sev. Green with black stripes and all! I'll try and get a pic up this week, I need to borrow a camera cause I want some pictures of daddy Ram with his "cloud."

That sounds like a really cool setup! What kind of barbs are you looking at?

If you are thinking tiger barbs, I'd actualy add the RTBS before the barbs...

The plan is to add probably 8 tiger barbs, I've got the one I started with in the 10 Gallon right now just holding the cycle in there until I'm ready to move him to the 55G with some company. He's the first fish I owned , so I'm kinda partial to him. He's made it through all of my newbie mistakes and is one of the only ones who survived .

Also my lfs recently got in a 2" Gold Nugget Pleco, I saw it today while I was shopping for the parrot. I was originally planning on putting one of these in this tank, but I'm not sure if it'll work. I don't want to spend 25$ dollars on a fish if the others are just going to pester him to death. Anybody have any thoughts on this.

Thanks for the rtbs tip, I'll be sure to do that! I've got to wait until the parrot settles down first though. He's being kinda skittish right now. staying in his cave until I'm not looking. but his stripes are coming back.
