I've had this tank set up for a week now and I tested the stats this morning and here's what i got

now it currently doesn't have a heater but i have ordered one.

im guessing your doing a fishless cycle. it takes awhile for the bacteria to get into the filter about 4 weeks until your fully cycled. heater should speed it up though :good:

would a heater plus taking water from home tanks help?

Water won't help, but a clipping of mature media will :good:

you say that but iv found iv cycled tanks a little faster by using water from other tanks...took about a week off on my second tank when i set it up

Oh, ok, if it works for you :)

It certainly won't hurt!

It takes all sorts, Dan! If the OP likes it, that's all that matters :)

I would point out there's far too much of it though.

I'm just wondering whether the fish will be able to compete with that colour, tbh. Wouldn't it be better to let the fish be the colour?
