Self Picked Insects To Feed Fish.

Hello,
Im posting this fourm to get some information about feeding earth worms or bugs in general to your fish.
Can it be harmfull to bring insects from the wild and feed them to your fish? Are there any health probelms associated with doing this type of feeding?
Anything that you can contribute to this fourm about this topic will be very helpfull and will be well appreciated!

Earthworms are fine food for fish that will eat them. Just make sure that they are gathered from ground that has not been treated with potentially harmful fertilizers or insecticides. Somewhere like under the leaves in the woods would probably be safe. Wash them carefully before feeding.

If your fish are small, chop the worms with a sharp knife or razor blade. They can be frozen before chopping to make the job easier.

i feed mine all sorts. slugs spiders flys earthworms insect larve if it crawls in my garden.... then its fish food

i used to dig up earthworms for my sevs , they loved them. my oscars , which can be fussy littles sods go ballistic if i drop in a cricket , in fact ive yet to own a fish of any description that doesnt relish a nice juicy bug of some sort .

I wont be so worried now to give my fish a treat once in a while.

yeah I'V been digging up worms for my parents oscars and been feeding my catfish some worms aswell. He some to enjoy them very much! Ill try to find some crockets.

haha im in the usa. But yeah I might do that =)
