I currently have setup a 5 gallon hexagon tank (Top Fin Aquascene 5) in my home.
It has been running well as a unit, I decided to purchase 1 Paddle tail Newt/Salamander, and 2 Rose Tetra Tropical Fish. I'm very much a newbie, I brought and set up the fish and reptile the sameday so far so good. My question is this. Can a Salamander/Newt and 2 Tetras coexist together, since the 5 gallon is only half full at about 2.5 gallons due too the reptile needs for a semi-aquatic environment. Will they survive?, so far is been a week with no problems. Will a bamboo plant hurt the fish or reptile?, and is 72F a good temperature for both?
Lastly can anyone explain the difference between a Salamander and Paddle Tail Newt? Is it neccessary for air slashing bubbles, or can they be eliminated by placing a miniture fish net to cushion the fall of the water noise? Anyone Please email me tkostov2005@yahoo.com Thanks

i think that tetras will become lunch, and you need 5 or more tetra for them to be secure
I dont get what you are telling them. If you beleive that they will become lunch , why do you recommend 5 instead of 2.

They can feel secure all they want, but it wont stop them from becoming lunch

Well, do you have any filtration on the tank's water. It may be hard since it is only half full, but without filtration, your pets will die, unless you change the water often.

I don't know much about salamanders, though some reptiles do like to eat fish.
