Hi everyone,

I have been offered a second hand Juwel Vision 180 for £200 including all fish - Angels, Hatchets and 3x black ghost knife fish. Do you think its worth it?

Chris

Depends how old it is and what condition it's in.

I paid £300 for mine brand new (without fish obvisously). Therefore if it's in good knick and the cabinet is included, maybe try and haggle a bit but yeah go for it.

Paul.

Hello chris

I Bought that exact tank for £140 with the stand and filter.

I take it if yours has fish it has substrate, decor and everythig else. if so £200 is a good price because altogether i have spent more that that filling the tank with the above stuff.

So yes that is a very reasonable price, theres always room for haggling though eh :hey:

Its a great tank i am very happy with it. i have pictures if you want see

Yeah sounds worth the money, provided its in top condition

bear in mind though that the Ghost knives will eventually outgrow that tank, (80g is needed for 1)

I would say the price is about right. The visions are very nice tanks.

Have a think about whether you are likely to want to keep all the fish as moving tank and fish, setting tank back up at your end then reintroducing the fish is quite a stressful business (for you and the fish).

I bought a second hand tank without fish, which I set up leisurely over about a month and I also bought a tank complete with all fish. This involved a two hour car journey and then about 24 hours of frantic running around to get their tank set back up. I don't exactly regret it as all the fish made it and I have kept several lovely plecs but do not go into it without thinking through a strategy when you get the fish home.

fat fish man, would u mind posting a few pictures. i want to get an idea what can be put into it decor wise. i already have a planted 60 Gallon but its flat fronted, if its bow fronted i want to see if its going to distort the fish too badly.

Unfortunately these are not the best pictures the dont do the tank justice, they seem to make my lighting look very dim.

Heres a low quality one but lighting looks better ( this one gives a better feel of the whole tank )

And from this picture you can see when looking at fish it doesnt distort your view
