Hello all,

Just a quick one. Should i remove the carbon pad from my Juwel filter while using Seachem Prime on my cycling tank ?

Cheers.

You shouldnt have the carbon in there when fishless cycling full stop :) for future refernce, no you dont need to remove carbon when using Prime, or any other dechlor.

In that case, carbon in the filter wont be such a bad idea :)

Heh. Thanks mate. Is Prime okay to use during cycling, it reduces ammonia and nitrates ? Bought some just for de-chlorination really.

It is good to use prime during the cycle. It converts ammonia to ammonium, which is less toxic to the fish but is still consumed by the filter bacteria. It doesn't remove nitrite, but simply makes it a little less toxic to fish as well.
