(I hope this is in the right spot.)

So, I am getting a 75 gallon as a severly early Christmas present, and I am wanting to move my current SE Asian stock into it.

So far, this is what I have, and if anyone sees something wrong size, not SE Asian, or has other comments on anything, please post them!

Current stock: Paradise fish pair, Golden Wonder Killifish pair, and 2 SAEs. I want to leave the Betta splendens out, because I am trying to get a "as natural as possible" look to the tank, and to be honest, they are a little "man made" to put into the tank, unless I found a wild B. splendens.

I have been looking at Asian (Borneo) leaf fish, http://www.ecologyasia.com/images-a-j/born...f-fish_0024.jpg which grow to 9 inches, but I am not sure if it would do well in a 75. Any thoughts on this? I have also been looking at a freshwater pipefish that is native to SE Asia, Indostomus paradoxus http://seahorse.fisheries.ubc.ca/images/paradoxfish.jpg . I would really like to add a school of Harlequin Rasboras. I think they would add more color and not be small enough to be eaten by the killis.

Have any other ideas?

Here are some other fish that I have found that are native to SE Asian:
- Pearl Danio
- Hillstream Loach
- Purple Passion Danio
- Kuhli Loach
- Violet Shark
- Other Loaches
- Glass Catfish
- Scissortail Rasbora

So, I am going to have to leave out the golden wonder killifish. They are from India, and don't really fit in with the SEA Biotope. Crap. I really like these guys. Maybe I'll keep them in the 30 when I start moving around tanks and fish. I could do an Indian tank. with some larger zebra danios and white clouds? But that is another topic.

I love the idea of glass cats! They have been one my favorites since I was a kid, and now I can properly house them.

I don't really like the scissortails. Not as exciting to the eye. I really like the harlequins. I'll look again at the rasboras, but I can almost guarantee that I'll be getting the harlequins.

while you have SAE - have you considered the False SAE, aka the flying fox?
You either get just 1, or like, 6+ I think because they are territorial, but in large numbers tend not to bug each other too much. ^_^ just a suggustion. I know I love my single one.

I have considered them, but I haven't seen any in my area.

I have read the opposite on the FFs: SAEs can be kept alone or in schools, and the FFs are aggressive towards each other as they mature.

no no, the false foxes do get agressive, but in large numbers together do not agress. but can be kept alone.

yep , go for glass cats - i love mine. they took a few weeks to settle down , and prefer their food delivered on a current , just so ya know

Good tip on the cats! It's been along time since I've kept them.

So, a school of cats are definitely in!

What's a good number in a school? Don't they grow to 6 inches?
