While completing the biggest water change I could tonight, I was rearranging the rocks in my tank, and one fell over and hit the side of the tank. it has left the smallest little crack or scratch (can't tell right now) in the side. It is 3/8 of an inch long. I can feel it inside the tank with my fingernail, but not on the outside. Do I drain the tank and repair it with silicone or wait and see what happens? I think it might just be a crack. Is there a way to repair that - similar to what they do with car windshields?

I am just about sick right now... The tank is about a month old! I can't believe this.

I just don't know what to do. I feel exceedingly stupid right now. It was foolish to move the rocks, but I did it anyway!

Yeah, that's what I am thinking... I measured it (3/8ths of an inch). I'll keep a close eye on it, and if it starts growing, I'll know. I know I won't be able to look at the tank for quite a while without staring at it for some length of time.

If you can't feel it on the outside then its (usually) just a scratch.

Well it didn't get any bigger overnight, so there is hope.

Take a black felt pen and make a small dot on either end of the scratch on the outside of the glass to show the size of it. That way if it does get bigger, you will know right away. I monitored a few scratches this way as I was worried they may be cracks too.

Hopefully no issues for you!

That's a great idea! Thanks...

Oh no! I'm sure it's just a scratch but I know exactly how you must have been feeling. My heart sank when I heard cracking sounds.

But hopefully ( touch wood it won't get bigger :)
