im looking for a smaller schooling fish that can go with large angelfish and a reasonably strong current

An awful lot of fish fit the bill for that. Rummy noses, scissortails, glowlights, head&taillights, cherry barbs, pygmy cories, just lots and lots out there so you'll have to look at pics and cruise your shops making notes and then get the members to try and shoot down your likes and ideas...
