I have a Frontosa, Regani pair, Calvus, and a Brichardi. I am looking for a school of fish to inhabit the mid to upper portion of the tank. Any ideas ? I would need to order them and have to know what I am looking for. I did find some Featherfins locally, but they didn't look too healthy. Thanks !

Compressiceps , Lake Malawi Haplochromines , would have suggested the calvus and brichardi but you have already got them , did see neolamprologus lelupi in with a big group of malawis , I know they are smallish but they were holding there own and very active , although do frontasa prefer slower moving fish ?
As you can tell I'm no expert but hope it helps a bit

Sorry , PARACYPRICHROMIS NIGRIPINNIS very attractive , CYPRICHROMIS LEPTOSOMA I think the leptosoma are schoolers :good:

The Leptosoma ! That is what I was looking for. Thank you. I should have mentioned that my Frontosa is only about 3" so smaller is fine and what I was looking for.

Shoaling? Mid-water? has to be Cyprichromis Leptosoma :good:

I would not add any types of Cyprichromis or paracyp. Fronts eat cyps in the wild. Any cyps would most likley be eaten when the fronts mature.

The mbuna Pseudotropheus acei loves swimming on the upper half of fish tanks and as far as mbuna go they are very mild manored. They aren't neccisarily a schooling fish, but I have three of them in a 75 gal and you always see them swimming to gether. Also they're get a nice purple color which is rare for mbuna
