Scared Fish

Hello i have just joined here like 10 minutes ago and 2 days age i got 2 swordtails and a gourami and my guppies and one of my platies were in the corner scared, my guppie got over that and my platy is alittle skiddish but will this happen in the future :fish:

maybe you platy was just feeling like he wanted to be left alone, i have even seen my tetras go off on their own for a little bit, so it doesn't seem like that is big of a deal. if he is showing other behavior changes then i would be worried

Welcome to the forum LobsterBoy.
You may well find that swordtails never really get over being nervous around you. Most swordtails come from an environment, as youngsters see it, where any movement outside of the water is considered a threat to them. Since swordtails have managed to survive tens of thousands of years, I would be reluctant to say that anything the students are doing had little importance. Granted that many studies are set up to test what we hobbyists all think we know about a subject, would it not be nice to have someone prove a thing that we all just believed, without any proof and based solely on our own necessarily flawed personal perspectives.
