Hi everyone... i have a 75-gallon tank with 6 angelfish, 5 cardinal tetras (trying to get a lot more cardinals for a bigger school), and 6 cories... so the tank looks REALLY empty lol

So I want to stock up on some fish, but I dobnt want any fin-nippers. I just recently had to get rid of my mollies and guppies since they wer starting to pick on the angels' fins.

I just dont know what kinds of fish can get along peacefully with the angels. I like the cardinal tetras because they mind their own business and stay away from the angels.

Would any of you angelfish experts recommend any fish that won't bite the angels?

I would get some platies mollies and sowrdtails honestly. They shouldnt bother or be bother by the angels. But guppies would be too vounerable.

I think you might have misunderstood my post lol... I dont have a problem with my angels picking on other fish, i have a problem with otherfish picking on the angels... and i had mollies and guppies that were always picking on my angels, so i had to take them out. I'm looking for fish that will not pick on my angels.

I dont want any livebearers, and i would like some fish that are like my cardinal tetras and my cories, since these fish do not pick on the angels at all. I don't know if some rams would have any problems with these fish...

Would Rams (any type) have any chance of picking on my angels? Would my angels pick on them? Any info regarding peaceful tankmates for my angels would be wonderful!

Have you had any angel deaths lately? Angels are usually the ones nipping at others. If a fish as small as a guppy is picking at an angelfish, it may be ill. Normally, it's the other way around! I don't think rams would bother your angels, although I don't know about the angels nipping at them. I know I wouldn't put danios or any fast moving fish with my angels, because they tend to scare them. I would suggest livebearers but I saw you don't like them. :(

Try this link out , instead of others making guesses you can check by yourself the compatibility.
Also its true the angels are aggresive. And it should be other way around. that angels chasing guppies. I dont know what wrong with your angels.
I think they are peacefull angels LOL !!!!!!

I would leave the other fish out, and don't get any more to make sure it isn't the angels nipping each other. This is common as angels mature, get territorial, and start to pair.

I've kept the livebearers you mentioned with angels without a problem, along with platys & swords. Plecs generally don't bother angels, I've kept apistos & kribs with angels as well.

agreed thats very strange of livebearers nipping angel but you never know??

I saw, with my own eyes, that my guppies and mollies were biting my angels... I actully saw them going over to the angels and biting the angels' fins.

Now that the livebearers are all out, the tank is very peaceful, with the cardinal tetras, the cories, and the angels. I have not yet seen any biting among the angels, they all get along great. They stick together (although i know that is going to change when they get older).

My angels are I would say medium sized... i cant really explain though, they arent tiny, but they arent huge.

Thanks bunty82 thats what i was looking for! :D

Hi, I have some 'Rummy-Nose Tetras' Clown Loaches and 'Glass Cats' in with my Angels. > They look good and are not threatened by Angels/Vice-versa. Also, Severum Cichlids go well, although they grow large.! (As do Clown Loaches.)

Bye. :good:
